Wake Up and Smell the Froggy

I am very concerned about Christians suing their brothers and sisters in Christ. I have heard of several people suing their doctor or midwife for different reasons. Perhaps they are justified, perhaps not.

I Cor. 6:1-7 Dare any of you, having a matter against another, go to law before the saints? Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? And if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters? Know ye not that we shall judge angels? How much more thins that pertain to this life? If then ye have judgments of things pertaining to this life, set them to judge who are least esteemed in the church. I speak to your shame. Is it so, that there is not a wise man among you? No, not one that shall be able to judge between his brethren? But brother goeth to law with brother, and that before the unbelievers. Now therefore there is utterly a fault among you, because ye go to law one with another. Why do ye not rather take wrong? Why do ye not rather suffer yourselves to be defrauded? Nay, ye do wrong, and defraud, and that tour brethren.

Matt. 5:23 Therefore if thou bring thy gift to the altar, and there rememberest that thy brother hath ought against thee; Leave there thy gift before the altar, and go thy way; first be reconciled to they brother, and then come and offer thy gift.

Rom. 12:19-21 Dearly beloved, avenge not yourselves, but rather give place unto wrath: for it is written, Vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the Lord. Therefore if thine enemy hunger, feed him; if he thirst, give him drink: for in so doing thou shalt heap coals of fire on his head. Be not overcome of evil, but overcome evil with good.

Matt. 5:40 And if any man will sue thee at the law, and take away thy coat, let him have thy cloak also.

Law suits are messy; everyone gets hurt. There is never a godly resolution. The only ones who benefit are lawyers and politicians. God wants reconciliation. God’s economy does not rely on money as the world’s economy does. God’s economy relies on the investment of our words in relationships. Both parties in a potential lawsuit should seek reconciliation, not compensation. Because “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places. Wherefore take unto you a lawyer, OOPS, the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Eph. 6:12, 13

Sour Dough Bread is Easy

This is an excellent step toward self-sufficiency.

Mix flour and 1 ½ cups water. This should be a thick batter. Add remaining ½ cup if mixture is doughy. Transfer to a glass jar that allows 1/3 space to the top. Cover the jar with a cloth. Do not refrigerate, keep in a cool place. Each day put mix in a larger bowl and mix in ¼ cup of water and 1/3 cup flour. On the 7th day make bread. Save at least one cup to feed for your next batch.

Basic Sourdough Bread

Mix ingredients in order. Knead dough. Put dough in a large bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let rise in a warm place 2 hours. Knead several strokes, shape into a loaf and place into a grease loaf pan. Preheat over to 400 degrees and bake for 20 minutes. Reduce oven temp to 350 and continue to bake until done, 15 to 35 minutes.
